HOW DOES IT WORK?
To ensure Brun-T Push-To-Fit fittings perform correctly and deliver a long-lasting, reliable installation, follow these essential steps:
- Cut the pipe end squarely and cleanly, ideally using a dedicated pipe cutter for best results.
- Deburr and chamfer the pipe end with a suitable chamfering tool before inserting the pipe into the fitting.
- Clean the pipe end thoroughly to remove any dirt, debris, or contaminants. Foreign material entering the Brun-T fitting can damage the internal seal.
- Allow for thermal contraction and expansion to account for changes in pipe length due to temperature variations that could result in the pipe pulling on the fitting.
- Insert the pipe into the fitting straight and true to ensure there is no misalignment that can put irregular stress on the fitting or internal seal.
- Inspect the fitting and pipe connection after assembly to ensure a secure, leak-free joint. Verify that the grip and seating are proper and perform a functional test. If any misalignment, gaps, or evidence of leakage appears, disassemble and reassemble using clean components.
